Dhow Cruise Al Seef: How to Plan Your Evening in Old Dubai

Plan your Al Seef dinner cruise evening around three confirmed Ocean Express times: boarding at 7:45 PM, departure at 8:30 PM and return at 10:00 PM. If you want to explore Old Dubai first, arrive independently with enough time for a relaxed waterfront walk, then use the Ocean Express boarding pin to reach the boat.
Al Seef is both a destination to explore on foot and the setting for your cruise departure. Keeping those two parts of the evening separate helps you enjoy the area without mistaking a nearby attraction for a promised stop on the sailing.

Where do we board at Al Seef?
Use the confirmed Ocean Express boarding location for the final part of your journey. A general search for Al Seef can bring you to the wider waterfront area without identifying the correct boat location. Save the pin with your booking confirmation before setting out.
For Self Arrival, plan around the 7:45 PM boarding time, not merely the 8:30 PM departure. Allow time to find the meeting point and get your group together. Traffic and the final approach can vary, so there is no single reliable travel allowance for every hotel.
If you are using a taxi or another independently arranged ride, share the boarding pin with the driver. If driving yourself, check current parking arrangements locally and allow time to walk from your parked car. This guide does not quote a parking fee or promise an available space.
What if we have booked pickup?
Ocean Express pickup serves Deira and Bur Dubai. It costs AED21 for each adult and child, with infants under 3 travelling free. Pickup begins from 6:00 PM, but each hotel’s collection time depends on the arrangements for that booking. Keep your phone available and follow the instructions supplied by the team.
A pre-cruise walk works most naturally with Self Arrival. If you book hotel pickup, do not also plan to leave the hotel for an independent walk without coordinating the change. The team needs to know where you will actually meet your transport.

A practical evening plan
Before boarding: an optional waterfront walk
Visit Dubai describes Al Seef as a waterfront destination with a heritage setting. That makes the area a useful place to spend some time before your cruise: look around on foot, pause for photographs and take in the Creek atmosphere before heading to the boat.
Keep the walk flexible rather than building a tight checklist of attractions. Decide how much energy your group has, check the boarding pin first, and turn back with enough time to reach it for boarding. Families and guests who prefer a slower pace may get more from a short waterfront stroll than an ambitious sightseeing circuit.
This is an optional independent activity. It is not a guided walk included with your cruise ticket. Any shops, cafés or heritage surroundings you explore on land are separate from the Ocean Express sailing, and this guide does not promise particular opening hours or attraction entry.
7:45 PM: arrive for boarding
Have your reservation confirmation ready and keep your party together. Ocean Express seating is first come, so a particular deck or table should not be treated as guaranteed by buying a standard ticket. Arriving for boarding gives you time to settle in and ask the crew about the evening’s arrangements.
There is a 45-minute interval between the stated boarding and departure times. Use it for the boarding process and getting comfortable; it is not extra cruising time. If you need help with access or a specific seating concern, discuss that before the evening rather than relying on an on-arrival solution.
8:30 PM: departure and dinner on Dubai Creek
The 90-minute sailing is the main part of the evening. Enjoy dinner and the waterfront atmosphere from the boat. Al Seef’s on-foot sights should not be read as an operator-confirmed list of landmarks passed during the cruise, and the sailing is not advertised here as a series of sightseeing stops.
Leave room in your plan simply to sit and enjoy being on the water. Trying to photograph every moment while eating can make a short evening feel rushed. Take a few photographs when the view interests you, then return to dinner and your companions.
10:00 PM: return
The confirmed return time is 10:00 PM. Plan your onward arrangements with time for disembarking and finding your ride. If using booked transport, follow the team’s instructions for your reservation. For independently arranged travel, keep your destination and phone ready before you leave the boat.
Dinner, decks and comfort
Ocean Express includes welcome drinks and starters, a continental dinner buffet, unlimited soft drinks and water. These are confirmed categories, not a promise of particular dishes. If someone in your party has an allergy or a specific dietary requirement, ask the team about it in advance. Do not assume a buffet description confirms that a particular dish is suitable.
The open upper deck and air-conditioned lower deck offer different environments. The upper deck gives an outdoor experience; the lower deck offers an enclosed, cooled space. Seating is first come, so choose the experience with that arrangement in mind rather than expecting a reserved viewpoint.
A light extra layer may help anyone who feels cold in air conditioning. Wear footwear that feels secure when boarding and moving around, and keep small belongings together. These are practical suggestions, not a separate operator dress code.
A toilet is available onboard. For other needs—such as stroller storage, high chairs or assistance boarding—contact the team before booking. Those facilities should be confirmed individually rather than inferred from the presence of two decks.
Questions before you book
How much is an evening for two adults?
Two adult tickets cost AED98. With pickup for both adults, add AED42, making AED140. Independently arranged transport is outside the Self Arrival ticket total.
Can we walk around Al Seef after being collected from our hotel?
Do not assume a pickup booking includes sightseeing time before boarding. If the walk is important to your plan, consider Self Arrival or ask the team what your transport arrangements allow.
Is this the Marina cruise?
No. Ocean Express departs from Al Seef for a Dubai Creek evening. Jack Sparrow’s Marina experience boards at Dubai Harbour and has a different route, duration and fare.
How do we pay?
Choose Pay Online through Stripe or Pay on Arrival by cash or card. Pay on Arrival can confirm a reservation while leaving payment outstanding until it is collected.
